He is risen!

<random, badly-put-together conglomeration of pictures = mostly from>

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."
Matthew 28:6

Easter is one of my favorite times of the year.  It is full of joy and happy springy-ness...even if it happens to raining here.  =/

"The Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world."
1 John 4:14

My grandma came home from spending the winter in Florida yesterday, and spent last night with us before leaving this morning.  Then our whole family dressed up and when to our church's Easter Sunday service.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39

There in the ground his body lay // light of the world by darkness slain // Then bursting forth on glorious day // up from the grave he rose again! // And as he stands in victory // sin's curse has lost its grip on me // For I am his, and he is mine // bought by the precious blood of Christ!

"God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."
1 John 1:5

It's on mornings like this that I just fall in love with my church all over again.  It makes me want to go up to random people, give hugs, and say, "Jesus loves you!"  :)))  We had an awesome service with music, dancing, and a great message, full of rejoicing because of our risen Savior.

"But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 John 2:1-2

After church, we came home and ate a yummy lunch and then had Easter basket searching.  We had done egg-coloring on Friday, and then there was candy of course.  Dark chocolate m&m's = LOVE.

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!"
1 John 3:1

Drawn to redemption by the grace in his eyes // if grace is an ocean we're all sinking // Oh, how he loves us so // oh, how he loves us // how he loves us all

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us."
1 John 3:16

My family also has a tradition of doing something called "Resurrection Eggs."  They're those plastic Easter eggs, but each one has something inside that tells part of the resurrection story (the donkey Jesus rode on Palm Sunday, silver coins to represent what Judas betrayed Jesus for, a white cloth to show that Jesus was wrapped and laid in the tomb, etc, etc...and finally an empty egg for the empty tomb!).  We go through and read the story from the Bible, while opening the eggs one by one.  I've done it since I was little.  :]

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9

The rest of the day has been spent doing leisurely things...which I probably can't afford with all I have on my plate right now.  But oh well.  Hey, it's Easter, right?

"'Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?'  But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:55, 57

I hope you all have a lovely Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, friends.  Eat lots of candy know you want to.  ;)  But don't forget what this day is really about.

He is risen!
